BAR SOAP FAQ's
Do you have questions about our glycerin soaps?
Glycerin soap is natural and super moisturizing, it hydrates and soften your skin as it gently cleans. Made with 100% vegetable glycerin, our bar soaps contain no animal fats so they rinse clean leaving no soapy film behind. Glycerin soap is Vegan friendly & Biodegradable
There are no toys or objects embedded inside our Artisan bar soaps. As Artists, we believe that's cheating! :)
All of our decorative pieces inside our Artisan bar soaps are 100% soap! Because they are encased in soap-they become part of the soap bar itself, so you can use all of it.
Remove packaging, wet your skin & the bar soap, lather and rinse. When you are finished give the bar soap a quick rinse and place on a dry surface.
It would depend on how often it was used but generally speaking a bar soap would probably last you a few months with regular use.
Rinse the bar soap after each use and place on a dry surface. To store bar soaps for longer periods, keep in the original package, a soap container or use plastic wrap / film.
Our bar soap does not expire but may dry out over a long period of time if not in use-we recommend keeping it in it's original packaging/placing it in an airtight container if you aren't going to be using it for some time.
Yes! Every light option for our bar soaps on our website has been tested by Alyssa. They do not aggravate/sting/cause her Eczema to flare up. Our bar soaps are very gentle.
If you are shopping in our store-all our bar soaps available in the store are the light option.
Regular bar soaps are stronger in scent and are for normal skin types. The Regular Strength option is made to order-occasionally we will have extras in the shop-they are clearly marked regular strength.
There are degrees of severity with Eczema. Lyssa's is quite severe but there is no way to recommend a product without knowing the severity of yours. There is no cure for eczema. Our light options with our bar soaps are very gentle, and if you would like to try a bar soap, we'll happily send you a free sample to try. This is the first scented soap Alyssa has ever been able to use. She's very happy. But if you are antibiotics/have any concerns, please talk with your health care professional first.
Our bar soaps are made with Glycerin. Glycerin soaps are superior for moisturizing and keeping your skin soft.
How do they compare? You use a lot less soap when you use a bar soap. A lot of people over pump and use a lot more liquid soap than needed. Bar soaps have a lot less packaging too! There are no bottles to clean, and then recycle. As well, the pump for liquid soaps cannot be recycled. With a bar soap, you can recycle our wrap and our bar soaps are biodegradable. This means that when you do get to the end of the bar-the sliver that is left won't outlast your children in a landfill. Tip-you can press the sliver of soap remaining into the next new bar soap-or use a scrubby mitt to use the very last bit of soap before starting a new one.
No, when you wash your hands you remove surface dirt and debris, your hands are clean, if you rinse your soap-your soap is clean too.
Not at all, grab a bath mitt, place the sliver of soap remaining, and use it all up. It's not wasteful, there is minimal packaging. There is no bottle or tubs to clean out and recycle, no pump mechanisms to put in the garbage and even if someone tosses the last bit of soap-it is completely biodegradable.
When you are finished using your bar soap, rinse the soap and place on a dry surface. This stops the foam and lather from adhering to your bar soap and the surface you place it on.
Absolutely, we use no animal fats/byproducts in our bar soaps. All our glycerin soaps are made from 100% vegetable glycerin.
No, we do not. We test our light bar soap options on Alyssa. and I test each of the regular strength bar soaps.
We try very hard to be! Our individual shrink wrap is recyclable and biodegradable.
What you might not know is we also try very hard to have zero waste in production of our bar soaps. This is a benefit to all of us, both financially and for our landfill. There is always 2-3 oz left over from pouring soap. We use as much of the left over soap as possible to mold something new, so that very little of the soap gets wasted. It a win-win situation.
Glycerin attracts moisture. Glycerin actually pulls moisture from the air and sometimes when it's very humid out, can form little crystal like drops on the surface of the soap. It's why our bar soaps are so moisturizing! This normally happens during summer months when the humidity is very high, you may notice these dew drops on the surface of your soap. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does please rest easy. It doesn't hurt the soap-you just rinse/wipe with a damp cloth.
Some of the fragrances we use contain Vanillin. Vanillin is an organic compound that gives Vanilla it's flavour. It smells beautiful but it can discolour bar soaps over time. This process is completely natural and there is nothing wrong with the bar soap. It's just Vanillin.
"May contain" colours allow us to standardize our product labels. It doesn't mean all of the colours are in one bar soap. :) We are currently re-doing all our product ingredients on our website so you will soon see bar soap with their specific colours listed on the website.
At this time, we do not offer wholesale accounts, but do offer tiered discounted rates for bulk purchases. Please reach out to us if you wish to purchase bar soap in larger quantities.
