BATH BOMB FAQ's
Do you have questions about Bath Bombs?
A bath bomb is a fun, fizzy tablet for your bath. It fizzes and foams, tub travels and colours the bath water. Bath Bombs come in all different shapes. We make bath bombs for kids, for adults, Seasonal bath bombs and bath bombs for special occasions. Bath Bombs also make great gifts.
Remove all packaging and gently lower your bath bomb into your bath water. Wait until the bath bomb floats and remove your hand then enjoy the show-when the bath bomb is dissolved, swoosh the bath water to evenly distribute the colours in your bath, and carefully get in. Enjoy! Rinse tub after Use.
Bath bombs are meant for a single use. If you love bath bombs and want to stretch your bath bomb spend we have lots of different size bath bombs, so you can always buy smaller bath bombs to save money.
We recommend using our bath bombs within six months of purchase for optimal freshness.
Yes! Every bath bomb we sell has been tested on Alyssa. Lyssa has had eczema all of her life. None of our products will cure Eczema but our bath bombs do not aggravate/irritate/sting Alyssa because every one of our bath bombs are formulated at her level. It's passed an Alyssa test-so you know our products are very gentle.
There are degrees of severity with Eczema. Lyssa's is quite severe but there is no way to recommend a product without knowing the severity of yours. Bear in mind, there is no cure for eczema-so what we are talking about is tolerance levels of any bath bomb you choose to use. Our bath bombs are very gentle, and if you would like to try a bath bomb, we'll happily send you a free sample to try. But if you are antibiotics with a doctor/have any concerns, please do not use any product without talking with them first.
All of our bath bombs are very gentle. We use fragrance oils-they are not the same as essential oils. All of our fragrance oils within our recipes are well within the recommended guidelines from the IFRA for cosmetic use.
Baths shouldn't be too warm, and bathing does come with challenges as pregnancy advances so care should be used getting in and out of the bath. Should you have any concerns, it's always best to talk to a doctor first before trying any bath bomb/product.
For the most part, yes.
What goes into our bath bomb mix is Baking Soda and Citric Acid. Both of these can be found in your grocery store. We use a mild surfactant called SLSA-which is so gentle, it can be used for sensitive skin types. Our bath bombs are lightly scented-they smell wonderful but are not overbearing and we use water soluble colours so they don't stain. You just rinse the tub and your done.
We also LOVE to add Shea Butter to our bath bomb mix. We add polysorbate 80 which is an emulsifier, it helps the melted Shea Butter oil and water mix so you don't slip. Some of our bath bombs contain cosmetic glitter/eco glitter. We do love glitter and for the most part use a light hand-unless it's specifically made so you look like Tinkerbell or it's done as a water effect but you'll see it in the description of the individual bath bomb. Shimmer bath bombs create amazing water effects, they make the water look like molten gold/silver.
Yes, bath bombs are safe for kids, but our tub test videos were performed in full baths - Kids have smaller baths, so if the bath water is less- the colour of the bath water will be darker.
If this is for younger children-we recommend using smaller sized bath bombs.
A bath bomb is all about Bath art-it's a fizzy, foamy, colourful soak. A bath melt is completely different-it's a solid oil bar or bath melt that once dissolved in the tub, is a decadent treat to deeply condition your skin. No need to add body lotion for days!
We use ultra refined Shea butter in our bath bombs. Shea Butter is classed as a tree nut but there are very little proteins left after the oil has been processed and refined. We have lots of customers that are able to use Shea butter with tree nut allergies-Lyssa is also allergic to tree nuts and can use Shea butter.
True allergies to Shea Butter are very rare-But we recommend talking to your doctor first before trying Shea butter.
We do not use any animal/animal byproducts in any of our bath bombs. We are Vegan friendly. :)
No, we do not . We test our bath bombs on Alyssa. :)
We try very hard to be! Our individual shrink wrap is recyclable and biodegradable.
What you might not know is we also try very hard to have zero waste in production of our bath bombs. This is a benefit to all of us, both financially and for our landfill. There is always 4-6 oz left over from molding a batch of bath bombs. We use as much of the left over mix as possible to mold something new for our discount bath bomb table, so that very little of the mix gets wasted. It a win-win situation.
"May contain" colours allow us to standardize our product labels. It doesn't mean all of the colours are in one bath bomb. :) We are currently re-doing all our product ingredients on our website so you will soon see bath bombs with their specific colours listed on the website.
If the surface colours of your bath bomb have faded to a lighter colour-fear not-it's because of UV light-we recommend storing them in a dark, cool place. Fading does nothing to the effect the performance of the bath bomb once it hits the water. The colour underneath the surface of the bath bomb is just as vibrant as when it was made.
Some of the fragrances we use contain Vanillin. Vanillin is an organic compound that gives Vanilla it's flavour. It smells beautiful but it can discolour finished bath bombs over time. You may see tan/light brown spots where it's discoloured, but this process is 100% natural and there is nothing wrong with the bath bomb. It's just Vanillin.
